Get your kennel in order

 

If your kennel is all over the place, then you may be finding it very difficult to keep track of your dogs.

One of the biggest problems is not knowing what rations your dogs are being fed. It is a very helpful thing to know if your dog is being fed the 1-7-7-7 ration, the Old Boy ration, or any other rations you may be feeding them. Knowing which dogs are on certain rations may help you save money in the end. You really wouldn't want your dog with a 20 in condition to be on Top Dog Condition Formula, that would be a major waste of money. Make sure you're checking your dogs every day, so you know which ones need higher-priced foods and which ones don't. You should see an improvement in your kennel funds.

Another reason to keep your kennel in order is your dog show results will improve. This is because you will be able to keep track of which dogs need to be shown or sessioned. If your kennel is a mess, you may not notice some of your dogs that could've been shown, or you may lose track of the dogs you were sessioning previously.

Some more good advice would be to only keep dogs that are showable, or only keep breeding dogs that would produce good-quality dogs. This will help keep your kennel from being cluttered. And any dogs you don't want, you can put up for sale or forever home. This way, you're not paying to feed dogs that you don't plan on keeping. And if they sell, you can make some profit.
